Research topic in the laboratory COGIT :

Access to customised geograhic information :

  • Conceptual schema-driven data restructuration
  • Web services for data extraction, restructuration and preprocessing

PhD Thesis :

Education :

  • 2000-2001 : Master on Physical methods in remote sensing, Paris 7 University
  • 1998-2001 : Engineer student in ENSG.

Professional experience :

  • From 2001 to 2008 : Researcher at the COGIT laboratory.
  • 2001 : 4 months DEA internship at LODYC (Dynamic Oceanography and Climatology Laboratory) : Use of neurons networks to model the optical absorption of phytoplancton
  • 2000 : 3 months project at ADIE (Association for the development of Environmental Information) in Libreville : Methodology for the conception of forests plans

Technical and scientific contributions :

In my PhD work, a model for the description of a dataset data structure has been defined, and a method to restructure data via their conceptual schema. This work includes the implementation on the GeOxygene platform of a web application for data restructuration.

My current research focuses on :

  • including integrity constraints into the structure model defined during my phd,
  • automatic selection of relevant data for the under-design "map on demand" platform of the SISSI research team,
  • automatic derivation of implicit information by means of ontologies and formal representation rules provided by the BDMUL research team.

In addition I worked on the expression of a geographic information need by users. I took part in users tests designs for European projects MurMur (multiple representation ) and SPIRIT (research of spatial information on the Internet)

Skills :

Data bases, multiple representation, Internet, GIS, Remote sensing
