Research Action on dynamiques spatiales

Research topic :

My research focuses on knowledge acquisition, representation and use for heterogeneous resources matching with geographic or geohistorical reference datasets. This includes:
  • Structured data, texts or images matching with geographic reference datasets: data linking, spatial named entity linking, multimodal image matching.
  • Semantic similarity, geographic ontology matching.
  • Geographic (or geohistorical) data publishing on the Web.
  • Knowledge acquisition and representation on geographic data: semantics, genealogy and quality.

  • Keywords: geographic data matching, interoperability of geographic reference datasets, knowledge acquisition and representation, geospatial semantic Web.

    Research projects:

  • From 2018 to 2022: ALEGORIA (ANR)
Project objectives: Link digitized cultural heritage images of the french territory at different periods from the inter-war period to the present with a geographic image reference dataset and make them easily accessible and browsable in a 3D interactive Web mapping application.
    • Scientific leader of the work package "Use of metadata for multimodal images indexing".
  • From 2017 to 2019: « Semantic reference geohistorical datasets for humanities » (Campus Condorcet, workshop leaders: Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales and Ecole Nationale des Chartes)
Workshop objectives: Explore Web of data principles to foster the interoperability of geohistorical datasets.
  • From 2010 to 2014: DATALIFT (ANR-10-CORD-009)
Project objectives: Implementing a platform for publishing and interlinking data on the Web.
    • Created and published vocabularies and metadata - the IGN France coordinates reference systems register - required to publish geographic data on the Web. Published GEOFLA® gazetteer as Linked Data. (see also http://data.ign.fr/ )
    • Proposed and implemented an approach for interlinking and visualising thematic data with a background topographic reference dataset.
  • From 2008 to 2011: GEONTO (ANR-07-MDCO-005)
Project objectives: Creating, comparing and using heterogeneous topographic ontologies.
    • PhD in Geographic Information Sciences and Technologies (Université Paris Est, Marne-la-Vallée, France)
      • Explored the use of ontology alignment techniques for geographical database schema matching.
      • Proposed an approach to formalise geographical database specifications in OWL 2. Implemented a semantic-based schema matching application.
    • Worked on heterogeneous ontologies global comparison.
    • Developed a geographical databases discovery interface based on OWL2 formal specifications.
